About me
Amanda Maloney received Masters degrees from the Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation (2011), and the program for Photographic Preservation and Collections Management at Ryerson University/George Eastman House (2008). She has been a Special Collections Conservator working on photographic materials and paper objects at the Weissman Preservation Center for Harvard Libraries since 2020. She worked as an Associate Paper and Photograph conservator at NEDCC from 2013 to 2020. In these positions she engaged in many complex projects on a range of paper-based and photographic materials. She gained experience working with fine art and contemporary photographic materials as a conservator at The Better Image® from 2010 to 2013. She has also completed conservation internships at the Sherman Fairchild Photograph Conservation Laboratory at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Fotorestauratie Atelier of Clara von Waldthausen (Amsterdam), and the Gatineau Preservation Center for the Library and Archives of Canada. In addition to treatment, Amanda has participated in surveys, research, workshops, and publications on the preservation of photographic materials. She is a Professional Member of the American Institute for Conservation (AIC).
