Ten Thousand Waves Spa and Dinner
Tuesday February 4, 2025 5:00pm - 9:30pm MST
5pm Spa and Dinner - Ten Thousand Waves and Izanami RestaurantLisa Duncan, conservator, grew up in Albuquerque and wanted to invite everyone to a spa night and dinner at the legendary Santa Fe bath house (onsen) – the wonderful– 10,000 waves. It's on the way to the ski area so not right in the central core of Santa Fe. It should be a relaxing and beautiful night. The spa takes reservations 45 days in advance so Lisa will be striving to secure a private room for 10. She can get another room too if there's lots of interest. Each participant will pay the spa directly on the day. It will be $82/ person plus any taxes.
Lisa has also made dinner reservations at the restaurant afterward.
Dinner to follow at the Izanami Restaurant. Dinner reservations are at 7:30p if you decide to just do dinner. Each diner will pay for their own meal. Click on the links for more information. Please note the spa visit does not include treatments ( facials/massage etc.)  You can reserve those directly with the spa. We recommend that you conclude any individual treatment before 5 pm to enjoy the soaking experience.

To reserve your spot - please sign up on the doodle poll. You will have the opportunity to sign up for both the dinner and spa - or just the soaking experience or the dinner.

Downtown Architectural Walking Tour
Around the time of statehood, it was recognized that the local economy was based on being the seat of government and the location of the state prison. So, there was an intentional effort to foster tourism and with that, it was decided that Santa Fe should cultivate a particular regional tradition now known as Santa Fe Style. In the early 1950s, Santa Fe was the first American city to establish a Historical District with strict rules for preservation.
David Rasch, the former Historic Preservation Officer for Santa Fe and a collections conservator, will be available to give a walking tour of Santa Fe. David charges $20/ person for the tour and will take payment directly at the tour. He understands the preservation issues in Santa Fe and is an expert witness for the litigations surrounding the Obelisk - the Soldiers' Monument, in the Plaza. This monument was erected after the Civil War to celebrate the Hispanic soldiers who turned back the Confederacy and prevented a takeover of New Mexico. It was pulled down by protestors in October 2020.

Sign up for Downtown Architectural Walking Tour on Saturday, February 8 by selecting it in the Tour Doodle Poll.

Exact starting location will be emailed to participants.
